How to Make a Macaroni Necklace

The mere thought of pasta can make anyone’s mouth drool. And if there is a huge stock of pasta in your kitchen, then for your next necklace-making adventure you can stop fetching for the beads. With myriad varieties of pasta that comes in several shapes and color, I was confident about making an interesting jewelry craft for my kids.

A Cool Tutorial on Macaroni Necklace

Materials required

  • Uncooked pasta (the hollow ones to be specific)
  • Ziplock bags
  • A cotton thread or string
  • Food coloring
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Tray
  • Tissue Papers

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Put the dried pasta into the ziplock bags.

  • Add 2 to 3 drops of food coloring and 1 drop of rubbing alcohol into the bags. Seal them and shake well till each pasta piece gets completely coated.
  • Place the tissues papers on the tray and then empty the colored pasta on them for drying.

  • Cut the cotton thread of the desired length and start stringing the pasta pieces one by one.

  • Tie both the sides of the string once you have reached the end.

Doesn’t it look like the necklace is bursting with soothing colors of the spring? This is my Italian-style gift for my mother from their grandchildren.
