Easter Dirt Cake Recipe
The peeps bunnies hopping around the M&Ms candy eggs on a dirt cake of chocolate pudding and Oreos make for a great visual as well as a scrumptious treat. That the fast and easy recipe needs no fancy ingredients comes as a plus.
Ingredients
- 6 oz pack of chocolate instant pudding
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened to room temperature for ease of blending)
- 8 oz cool whip
- ½ cup softened margarine or butter
- Bunny shaped marshmallow peeps and M&Ms for decorating
- Crushed Oreos (enough to cover the base of a 9×13 baking dish, in two separate layers)
Instructions
- Combine cream cheese, pudding, butter and cool whip to make a creamy filling. You need to beat the mixture until it is smooth.
- Place half of the Oreo cookie crumbs at the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish.
- Top with the filling mixture and put a layer of the remaining crushed Oreo cookies over it.
- Let the dirt cake chill in a refrigerator for at least 2 hours
- Garnish the cake with marshmallow bunny peeps and M&Ms just before serving.
